After announcing his departure from lifelong club Liverpool FC, Steven Gerrard may already have an American destination lined up. Multiple outlets have Gerrard moving to the LA Galaxy in the summer, to the tune of $6 million.

Gerrard is just the latest in a series of European players rumored for LA, as the Galaxy seek a big name to fill the hole left by Landon Donovan. Andrea Pirlo was another apparent off-season target — meaning Galaxy fans will cling tightly to teammate Mario Balotelli’s recent praise for Gerrard, calling him “at the same level as Pirlo.”
But the move would pose unique challenges for Gerrard, and reaction has been varied.

While Corner of the Galaxy can’t independently confirm the deal (and we aren’t about to jump the gun this time), all signs point to another English captain lining up for the Galaxy come June.
