Jaime Penedo came to rescue the LA Galaxy in the 2nd half of 2013. But has the Panamanian ‘keeper lived up to the billing?
On this episode of Corner of the Galaxy: From the Box your hosts Josh Guesman and LA Galaxy Insider Adam Serrano dive into the LA Galaxy‘s shining star in their 1-0 victory over Seattle, Jaime Penedo.
It wasn’t long ago that Jaime Penedo had to come into the Galaxy squad to rescue a team in turmoil with Carlo Cudicini failing to do anything meaningful. And since his rescue appearances at the end of 2013, Penedo has been the number one starter for this LA Galaxy team.
But is he everything we thought he would be before arriving? Has he lived up to his billing as a possible top 5 goalkeeper in Major League Soccer? What does he need to improve on and what are his weaknesses?
There’s no doubt that Penedo has come up big for the LA Galaxy when they needed him most. The most recent game against Seattle and the 2014 playoff appearance against Salt Lake are both prime examples. But is this the best we can expect from Penedo?
It’s a great show filled with great LA Galaxy discussion.
