Saturday evening at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah was a cold and rainy one for LA Galaxy II as they took on Real Salt Lake Monarchs in front of a crowd of 1001, that included the crew from ACB who went all out for Los Dos. In similar fashion as the first team last Saturday against Sporting Kansas City, LA Galaxy II scored a goal in the dying seconds of stoppage time and came out with the 3 points, their second victory of the season, and first on the road, with a 1-0 victory over the RSL Monarchs.

The weather at Rio Tinto had pretty much throughout the whole game dictated the way it was played. There were chances for the Galaxy and chances for the Monarchs all throughout the match. Many big saves also came out of Goalkeeper Clement Diop.
The best chance of the night for Los Dos came in the 32nd minute when shots by Ryo Fujii and Jack McBean got deflected and then saved by RSL Monarchs Goalkeeper Eric Osswald. Throughout the first half Los Dos had a good fluidity and good possession as they did look the better side.
Then came the 42nd minute and a blistering shot from about 45 yards out from the Monarchs’ Lucas Baldin needed a show stopping, spectacular save by Diop to keep the score at 0-0.
The second half was a different kind of game. There were not many chances as the game was less fluid and “nice” as the rain started pouring down at Rio Tinto and affected the match. It honestly looked like both teams were fine with a tie, until the moment of truth came in the 92nd minute when LA Galaxy II Defender Bradley Diallo sent in a ball from the left wing which glided by the RSL Monarchs keeper and went into the back of the net, to give Los Dos the 1-0 lead and eventual game winner with no time to spare! I’m not sure if Diallo really meant the ball to go toward the goal, but either way it was a wonder goal and a splendid strike by the Frenchman.

2 wins in a row for Los Dos after 2 decent performances is great as LA Galaxy II are marching up the USL West after starting the season slow.
Postgame, the players were very excited as many of them posted on their social media accounts:

It is also much worth mentioning the awesome support from the awesome crew from ACB who made the long trek to Sandy, Utah, who truly love the Galaxy with all their heart at any level, cheering there butts off in the freezing cold and rainy weather. They also stuck around to take a picture with the players and were the last ones to leave Rio Tinto in the freezing cold.
