LA Galaxy have announced two preseason matches against Club Tijuana and the San Jose Earthquakes.
Carson, CA – The LA Galaxy have announced two additional preseason matches. The first match will take place against Club Tijuana at StubHub Center on February 9th at 7PM. The second match will see the LA Galaxy travel to Las Vegas where they will take on the San Jose Earthquakes at Cashman Field on February 13th, 2016 at 7PM.
For the LA Galaxy both of these matches will help prepare them for the 2016 season. A season that will start with a matchup against LigaMX’s Santos Laguna in the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals. Slated for Wednesday 24th, 2016 at StubHub Center, it’s sure to test a barely-through-preseason LA Galaxy side that has struggled with this particular stage of the tournament.
The Club Tijuana preseason game is particularly noteworthy as this will be the first meeting of these two clubs since Xolos eliminated the LA Galaxy from the CONCACAF Champions League on March 18, 2014 by a cumulative score of 4-3. The same tournament at the same stage that LA now hopes to get past Santos Laguna.
Tickets will be available to the general public, for the Xolos match at StubHub Center, on January 11th. American Express cardmembers will be able to gain early access to the tickets on January 6th, and LA Galaxy Season Ticket Holders will get their shot on January 7th. All tickets can be purchased through www.LAGalaxy.com/Tickets.
No ticket information has been given for the game vs San Jose, but with a capacity of under 9,500 it might be a hard ticket to come by. Then again, it is a preseason game.
Both of these newly announced games will take place after the previously revealed preseason game against FC Shirak on January 30th at StubHub Center.
The LA Galaxy will announce it’s full preseason schedule at a later date.
