CoG: Arena Departs. LA Galaxy Actively Searching for a Coach and GM.

Today’s show will dive into Bruce Arena’s departure and look at what the LA Galaxy will have to do to pick up the pieces.

CoG Studios, CA – The LA Galaxy are now in an unfamiliar position. They’ll be starting the 2017 season with a new Head Coach and a new General Manager. And in fact, they may also be looking for assistant coaches, Designated Players, and others as Bruce Arena’s departure may be the time for the Galaxy to reset this team.

Bruce Arena has officially taken the Head Coaching position with US Soccer and because of that, the LA Galaxy are now in the process of looking for his replacement. And that means two spots are being actively searched – Head Coach and General Manager.

Joining Josh Guesman today is LA Times Soccer Reporter Kevin Baxter. Kevin will update you on all the inner workings of the club and take you behind the scenes of what might be happening. There are so many moving pieces, but both Josh and Kevin believe that none of this is surprising the LA Galaxy. It seems like a plan is in place and that they’ll be methodical in their approach to all their open positions.

Kevin will tell you about his recent talk with Bruce Arena and together the guys will give you the candidates who might be available for the Galaxy’s coaching position. That includes the likely internal replacement and some of the names that are being kicked around by fans and reporters that are outside the club.

This show should point you in the right direction as to who the LA Galaxy may rely on to go into the 2017 season and tell you about the plans that are already in place regarding Designated Players and players who will receive Targeted Allocation Money (TAM).

It’s a great show that will get you ready for, what should be, a very busy couple of weeks. Who said the offseason was a time to relax?
