LA Galaxy Acquire the Rights to Midfielder Miguel Aguilar from DC United

The first personnel move from General Manager Peter Vagenas has been completed. The LA Galaxy have acquired the rights to Midfielder Miguel Aguilar from DC United as well as a 2019 4th Round pick in the MLS SuperDraft. In exchange, the LA Galaxy have sent their 4th round pick in the 2018 SuperDraft to DC.

Miguel Aguilar is a Mexican-born midfielder who was taken by DC United with the 17th overall selection in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. Aguilar has played in 23 games for United, starting four of those games. His first goal for DC United came in a CONCACAF Champions League match vs Arabe Unido where he scored their only goal in a 1-0 win.

Miguel Aguilar was a teammate of Dave Romney’s, a current LA Galaxy defender, at the University of San Francisco from 2011-2014. Aguilar scored 15 goals and tallied nine assists while earning many accolades — All-West Coast Conference First Team, West Coast Conference All-Academic Team, All-West Coast Conference Second team, and West Coast Conference All-Freshman Team.
