On today’s show, your hosts walk you through the win in the US Open Cup, get you ready for Houston, and try and figure out how the LA Galaxy will survive this glut of games.
CoG Studios, CA – The LA Galaxy, with youth and skill, dispatched Orange County SC and advanced to the fifth round of the US Open Cup. So what do they get for that? PUNISHED with more games.
Your hosts, Josh Guesman, and Wendy Thomas are, first of all, here to walk you through the Galaxy’s 3-1 win over their USL rivals. The youth was served in this game and their neighbors from down south couldn’t handle the talent the good talent on the field. But why haven’t the Galaxy seen the success from those younger players? Is there a problem with the academy? Or a problem with trusting in the youth? Our hosts discuss.
Then they’ll move on to the Galaxy’s ridiculous schedule. If you thought you were missing some soccer, the Galaxy will now play ten games in the next 38 days. What effect will injuries and roster depth have on this club’s success? And why is winning another US Open Cup game a bad idea? We’ll discuss it all.
Then we’ll get you updated on standings, and prepared to welcome back two former Galaxy players to StubHub Center when the club takes on Houston Dynamo. AJ DeLaGarza and Leonardo will be back and I’m sure there will be more than a few fans who will be wearing a certain jersey to show their respect for one of the biggest hearts in all of MLS. How many goals will each of these players score on their former team?
Finally, it’s about previewing the matchup that pits one of the league’s worst road records against a team that can’t win at home. Can the Dynamo get their first road victory against the Galaxy? And what should we expect from a starting lineup with injuries, suspension, and international duty? We’ll get you ready for what is sure to be a fun game finally back at home.
