Podcast: Yelling at Bambi, Soft Goals, and “Open” Season for LA Galaxy

On today’s show, your hosts go over the loss to Sporting KC, get real about Gyasi Zardes, and give you a brief preview on the LA Galaxy and their Open Cup game on Wednesday night.

CoG Studios, CA – The LA Galaxy continue to frustrate and annoy everyone who is trying to figure them out. They have the league’s best road record but can’t get anything going at home. Their latest gaffe, a 2-1 loss to Sporting KC that saw some questionable goalkeeping and possibly even bigger issues. These are their stories (insert Law and Order sound here).

Your hosts, CoG’s Josh Guesman and guest host Larry Morgan, are here to give you all the information you need to be the smartest person at your next soccer party. With Kevin Baxter on vacation, Josh and Larry will give you their thoughts on the biggest issues concerning the weekend loss. Including Clement Diop taking the blame for his mistakes as well as another Galaxy player who was less than grand.

Plus the guys will talk about the bigger issues – that the team felt they were unprepared to execute their coaches game plan. If that doesn’t ring an alarm bell, then I don’t know what does.

They’ll also get to all your calls as well as answer one incredibly well-written email that probably has Josh on the defensive. Has Josh gone too far in his criticism of Gyasi Zardes? Or is the writer of our email out of touch with what has actually happened on the field in 2017? You get to decide!

Finally, the guys give you a brief preview on the Galaxy’s Round of Sixteen, US Open Cup match against Sacramento Republic FC on Wednesday night. While the lineup is sure to be a tossup, what’s important is that Republic FC considers this to be one of the biggest games of their season, and they’re playing on a field they just had success on. Do the Galaxy get by this dangerous matchup?

Thanks for joining us on a fun CoG: From the Box. We’re glad you trust us to deliver you the best in Galaxy news, and we hope you’ll tell all your friends. Cheers!
