Podcast: Closed-Door Meetings, Bulletproof Vests, and Front Office Pressure

On today’s show, your hosts will walk you through a very different night for the LA Galaxy. Private meetings, supporter protests and pressure on the front office.

CoG Studios, CA – The LA Galaxy were embarrassed in a four-goal loss to Toronto FC on Saturday night in front of a crowd that was smaller than some midweek games. But the events that happened after the game are probably more exciting than what the fans saw during the 90-minutes of play.

On today’s show, we’re going to take you through the obstacles the Galaxy now face and we’ll try to give you the most current outlook on the team, the coaches, and the front office.

Your hosts CoG Co-Creator Josh Guesman and LA Times Reporter Kevin Baxter are ready to give you behind the scenes access to a team in crisis mode. They’ll start off by discussing the loss to Toronto, and what minor points can be taken from it before they bring you into the tunnel and the world underneath StubHub Center.

Josh and Kevin will describe the tense press conference, and they’ll also explain what normally happens and why none of this was normal. They’ll also give you the best insight in the league on what was said in the closed-door meeting that Galaxy Head Coach Sigi Schmid sprung on the players and the lengths the club went to limit reporters from overhearing.

And while all of this was going on, one supporters group was holding their protest in the stands in the face of certain consequences.

Finally, the guys will talk about the midweek matchup with Atlanta United before taking your calls, your questions, and your emails.

It’s a show that’s chock full of Galaxy news and information that you’re not going to find anywhere else.
