The LA Galaxy have signed North Carolina FC goalkeeper, Brian Sylvestre, the club announced today.
Sylvestre, 25, signed his first professional contract in 2011 with the Vancouver Whitecaps in their residency program playing in the PDL. He’s also played in the MLS Reserve League (also with Vancouver), USL PRO with the Harrisburg City Islanders (Philadelphia Union affiliate) and with the NASL (Carolina Railhawks).

In 2015, he started 12 games for the Union earning over one-thousand minutes and five shutouts.
“Brian has a lot of potential and is a good addition to our depth,” said LA Galaxy Head Coach Sigi Schmid in a press release. “He has a big frame and we look forward to his development in our organization.”
Sylvestre stands an impressive six-foot, five-inches tall and originally hails from Hollywood, Florida. Making him one of the few players who are able to go from Hollywood to Hollywood.
He’s expected to backup recently signed goalkeeper David Bingham and be part of a revamped defense that Schmid has been focused on rebuilding. The Galaxy’s 2017 defensive effort was second worst in the league. They allowed 67 goals which was just in-front of Minnesota United’s 70 goals allowed.
Sylvestre joins new defensive signings Jorgen Skjelvic, and Rolf Feltscher, along with Ashley Cole, Dave Romney, Michael Ciani, and Daniel Steres, who were already retained by the club.
