On today’s show, your hosts will get you in-depth analysis of a final push to grab soccer superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Plus they’ll discuss injuries and national team call-ups that will see the LA Galaxy shorthanded on Saturday!
CoG Studios, CA — The LA Galaxy didn’t play last weekend (bye-week) but that didn’t stop them from plummetting down the standings and picking up another injury. Jonathan dos Santos missed his call-up with the Mexican National Team because of a hamstring injury that he picked up in a scrimmage on Friday and now the club is faced with traveling to Vancouver short about 10 players.
Your hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter are here to talk about the planned absences for Saturday. Those also include six starters and a bunch of bench depth. So should the Galaxy just write off the game? Or could they start some younger talent and really press the Whitecaps?
But the big news isn’t about the game this weekend, nor is it about the Galaxy announcing a sell-out for the March 31 game against LAFC. No, the big item for discussion is that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is back in the news, but we’re going to be the only ones to tell you about it from the perspective of solid information linking him to the club. This isn’t a show based on some internet link out of Turkey (although we’ve certainly done that before).
There would have to be rule changes, International Slots opened, and maybe even a player being bought down or transferred off the roster to make Zlatan work on the current Galaxy squad. But there are some signs pointing towards his inclusion on this team in the near future.
Finally, the guys will answer a ton of your questions as you query us about the training staff, injuries, Zlatan and more.
It’s going to be a busy two weeks for the Galaxy, and we’re glad you’re getting your information from right here at CoG!
