Podcast: Greetings from Russia – No DP’s, no problem for LA Galaxy in win over RSL

On today’s show, your hosts will walk you through the LA Galaxy victory over Real Salt Lake. Did the Galaxy learn some important lessons? Are the Galaxy’s Designated Players on the way out?!

CoG Studios, CA — The LA Galaxy had one of their most complete 45 minutes on Saturday night in a 3-0 win over visiting Real Salt Lake. But as always, the victory may have just given us more questions than concrete answers.

On today’s show, your hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter are back to give you their thoughts on the weekend’s game. Plus, Kevin joins us from Moscow ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. And despite some minor technical difficulties, we can say that the Panda is enjoying himself ahead of the tournament.

First, the guys will talk about what the win against RSL did for the Galaxy. With an uneventful first half, did the injury to Sebastian Lletget actually lead to something very positive? Did Bradford Jamieson’s play show exactly the Galaxy are missing? And can we really make any statements about the Galaxy’s three Designated Players?

With Giovani and Jonathan dos Santos away for the World Cup, and Romain Alessandrini out with a quad injury, are the Galaxy overpaying for Designated Players that don’t impact the team? And could that mean a house-cleaning is coming this summer?

Plus, Josh and Kevin will give you their thoughts on the upcoming US Open Cup match against the Portland Timbers. Will the Galaxy be without several starters again? Will the game ruin vacation plans? And where’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic going to be for that match? On the bench, or on a plane to Russia!

Finally, we’ll make sure that Kevin gives you his thoughts on the World Cup, Moscow, and why the Starbucks is no different in Russia!
