On today’s show, your hosts talk about the central pairings that found success in the victory over Seattle, and why the LA Galaxy still have some hope for the postseason.
COG STUDIOS, Calif. — The LA Galaxy aren’t easy to figure out. The entire season has been up and down in terms of results and the club just hasn’t found the consistency they’ve needed.
Now, after a victory over the visiting Seattle Sounders, the Galaxy have once again given us a small glimpse into how good they can be when the defensive effort is there. And there’s plenty to learn from this shutout win.
On today’s show, your hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter are back to talk about the win over the Sounders and specifically focus in on the changes interim head coach Dominic Kinnear was forced into making.
First, Josh and Kevin will dive into a starting lineup that saw Jorgen Skjelvik off with the flu, Michael Ciani on the bench, and had a starting central pair of Dave Romney and Daniel Steres. They’ll tell you why it worked on the night and why the midfield had a bunch to do with that.
And speaking of the midfield, the guys will also talk about Jonathan dos Santos and his pairing with Sebastian Lletget. Did the Galaxy figure out something about the spine of the team?
And with the playoffs almost out of reach, Kevin will make sure you understand there is a real path to the playoffs for the Galaxy. But it’s going to be a difficult one.
Finally, the guys make sure you understand where Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s head is at with regards to returning for next year and why you can’t simply dismiss Jurgen Klinsmann sitting with Galaxy President Chris Klein at the game.
It’s a packed show of more than 60 mins of Galaxy talk and we’re glad you could join us.
