On today’s show, your hosts get you through the off-week with some March-madness style Galaxy brackets. Can you pick the winner?
COG STUDIOS, Calif. – The LA Galaxy have an off week because of the international “break.” But that doesn’t mean we don’t have tons to talk about on today’s show! The guys even have a Sweet-Sixteen Bracket to help you fill the time with no Galaxy soccer.
On today’s show, your hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira are back in the studio to make sure you’re getting the most up to date Galaxy news and injury updates. And there’s plenty along that front to last us most of the show.
Josh and Eric will start by talking about Julian Araujo’s call up to the U.S. Men’s National Team Under 23 squad and how he’s going to be a significant factor in the countries attempt to qualify for the Olympics. And with a new head coach, Jason Kreis, Araujo could be primed for a serious role on the team.
Then the guys venture into MLS’ agreement with MGM and why linking with a sports betting franchise will be beneficial for the league and for fans who want accurate information on injuries and team news. But there are also some potential downsides to inviting billions of dollars of action to MLS, and that could involve match-fixing and why the MLSPA is worried about protections for their players.
And don’t worry. There will be plenty of updates on Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s “injury” including what we know and don’t know about the most expensive player in MLS history. What information do we even know?
Finally, Eric unveils his 2019 Top Galaxy Storylines in a one to 16 ranked bracket that is sure to bring out your arguing side. Could the story of Giovani dos Santos being bought out ( a no. 1 seed) lose to Cozmo 2.0 (a no. 16 seed)? We’ll tell you how to vote and fill out the bracket!
An off-week is always a time to get a little fun with our coverage, and we’re glad you could join us!
