Podcast: No Depth. No wins. Galaxy lack creativity.

The LA Galaxy loss to NYC shows that the depth has been exhausted, and that creativity must come from Alvarez.

COG STUDIOS, Calif. — Another loss puts the LA Galaxy against the proverbial wall and makes this week a crucial part of their recovery before facing off against the Colorado Rapids.

But before we get too far away, the Galaxy are down two Designated Players. And that was very evident in their defeat to New York City FC on Saturday afternoon.

On today’s show, your hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter are back to discuss the hiccups against NYCFC and dive into some of the more controversial moments.

The guys will talk about the Galaxy’s five-man backline and discuss the switch at halftime that brought them back to a more comfortable formation. The guys will also talk about Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s comments regarding the backline and why he didn’t like it.

Josh will then go on to explain what the refereeing crew saw in the penalty kick that was awarded in first-half stoppage time, and he’ll discuss the penalty kick this crew flat out missed and never reviewed.

Did the Galaxy get screwed? Yes! Would it have changed the game? You’ll have to tune in to find out.

The guys will also discuss Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s hands to Sean Johnson’s neck and why you shouldn’t be surprised if the league comes down on him.

Finally, Josh and Kevin will talk about Galaxy Alumni news, the Gold Cup rosters, and the ridiculous schedule that gets us to the break in June before the show ends.

This episode is chock-full of behind-the-scenes stories, lineup insights, and why the Galaxy might be resting Jonathan dos Santos over this weekend as well.

We’re talking over 60 minutes of Galaxy-talk, and you get to be a part of it.

So don’t go anywhere, get a frosty beverage and enjoy the soothing sounds of Panda and Pato in the morning!
