Podcast: Chicharito deal in doubt?

Could the LA Galaxy be watching as the Chicharito deal slips away? Not so fast. It’s all a negotiation!

COG STUDIOS, Calif. — Things didn’t go well today for the LA Galaxy. Reports surfaced that their blockbuster deal for Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez was in danger of falling through. And that generally sends people into a panic.

On today’s show, your host Josh Guesman and Larry Morgan discuss all things LA Galaxy but specifically hone in on the Chicharito deal and what could be holding it up. Also, they’ll tell you why this doesn’t seem to be something that will kill the deal. But it’s undoubtedly going to take some work to get it all together.

The Guys will start by giving the latest in Galaxy news. And that includes all the great work the LA Galaxy Foundation did in 2019, and it includes the signing of Homegrown goalkeeper Eric Lopez. They’ll even discuss how Lopez might be the most unlucky signing in history as his announcement came at an inopportune time.

Then Josh and Larry will screw up a bunch of words, Josh will give you his bad Spanish, and the guys will provide you with the latest on the Galaxy’s late-round picks in the MLS SuperDraft.

But there’s also a good discussion on the progress — or the lack of progress — on the League’s Collective Bargaining Agreement. The tough times haven’t even started to hit, but there does seem to be more than a little positivity that it will all get done before the beginning of the season.
