Podcast: An Interview with Galaxy Defender Dan Steres – An End of April party

LA Galaxy’s Dan Steres gives us the players’ perspective on closed-door games and player safety. And it’s never as simple as you want it to be!

COG STUDIOS, Calif. — On Corner of the Galaxy, we like to celebrate the little victories. And today, on a show that features LA Galaxy Defender Dan Steres, we’re celebrating the end of April and the beginning of a new month.

Hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira are back to walk you through a bunch of pressing league and Galaxy topics, while also welcoming Dan Steres back to the show for the first time since 2016.

Steres will talk about quarantine life, getting a new puppy, and what players think about games behind-closed-doors. The issue, as it’s very clearly put, is much more difficult to comprehend than simply putting teams in one hotel and hoping for the best. Dan will also talk about not getting to play much in the preseason and not making it to the Galaxy’s first two games. And how that is giving him some hope of being 100-percent when the season finally does kick-off.

But Josh and Eric have some topics of their own to get through. They’ll discuss the Galaxy’s season ticket policy and why MLS really should come out with a league-wide plan. Plus, they’ll discuss Governor Gavin Newsom’s 4-Stage process to opening California back up for business. Let’s say that sports with a live audience in attendance feel very far away.

Plus, there’s some real transfer rumor talk — if there even is a transfer window — surrounding Gonzalo Higuain. From Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s relationship with the family to his bigger brother playing in MLS. Higuain and MLS could do a lot to close the gap from MLS to the big leagues around the world.

Finally, we answer your questions en route to a more than 60-minute show that gets you updated on every Galaxy related.

Special thanks to Dan Steres and the LA Galaxy for his appearance on today’s show!

Thanks for joining us! And Happy End of April to you all! Stay safe!
