Podcast: Keane is Keen on Galaxy, and some Faux Tráfico Prep.

The LA Galaxy are on the verge of elimination and a point against LAFC is a must. Can the club rebound against their rival?

COG STUDIOS, Calif. — This one feels a little different. Sure they’re some buildup, but there’s not the same feeling around the streets of Los Angeles that the biggest rivalry game in Major League Soccer is kicking off this weekend. And it really shouldn’t feel normal. There’s a global pandemic, there will be no fans in attendance, and it’s being played in Orlando.

But having said that, the Galaxy still need to win on Saturday night, if only to keep hope alive for staying in the tournament.

On today’s show, hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira are back to discuss the Galaxy’s recent struggles as they prepare for LAFC on Saturday night (7:30 PM; ESPN/ESPN Deportes) and try to take advantage of a tournament rule that should see more than half of the third-place teams making it to the knockout stage.

To start everything off, Josh and Eric are joined by John Jones III, the President and co-creator of the Eastside Riders Bike Club. John will explain what his organization does, how they got involved with the Galaxy, and what they’re doing in the community to make a difference. Plus, John gives us some great insight into the bike ride that will occur before the Galaxy vs. LAFC game on Saturday, which starts in Watts and ends at Dignity Health Sports Park. It’s a great talk with a truly inspiring man and organization.

The guys will shift gears then as they discuss Robbie Keane expressing interest in coming to the Galaxy as a manager and why, if you’re the club, you start talking to him RIGHT NOW!

Josh and Eric will get you updated on all the Galaxy news — and there are some weird stories today. One of them involves a monkey and a knife and a fight.

Finally, the guys focus on the LAFC matchup, give you their predictions, and let Eric give you another dramatic game preview.

It’s a jam-packed show that you shouldn’t miss!
