Podcast: When the Games Stopped

Did the LA Galaxy make a decision not to play? Or was that decision made for them? Are games played this weekend?

COG STUDIOS, Calif. — The social injustice across the country continues to pull sports into the fray — and rightfully so. On Wednesday night, games across the NBA, MLB, WNBA, and MLS halted as players boycotted their participation in the events.

On today’s show, hosts Josh Guesman, Eric Vieira, and special guest Chris Tucker from the Riot Squadcast will talk about the ramifications for MLS and whether or not we should see games played this weekend.

The guys will talk about the timeline surrounding the stoppage of the games and why the LA Galaxy seemed to lag behind the rest of the teams to decide not to play.

And who is the Galaxy’s real leader in the locker room? Who can bring everyone together, knowing the club has a real lack of black leaders and players on the team or in the front office?

The guys will also dig into one result of the boycott and why the comments of Dell Loy Hanson highlight the many issues that MLS will have to deal with as a league.

While the soccer talk is limited on today’s show, we all think it’s important to discuss the boycott issues and how that should affect the league, the players, and the fans!
