Podcast: Shutting out and Shutting down LAFC, again

How did an LA Galaxy team come out fighting with confidence even after being severely manhandled in the first half? And how did Sebastian Lletget find his groove?

COG STUDIOS, Calif. — So you thought that the LA Galaxy might stop their winning streak against LAFC? You thought that it would be revenge time and that the Galaxy would be on the losing end of a fierce cross-town rival? Think. Again.

On today’s show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the victory over LAFC and why the Galaxy continue to impress with both their confidence and teamwork. But this game means so much more than just another win. So there’s a lot to discuss!

Josh and Kevin will start with their impressions of the stadium and tell you what it was like being in the house for the third and final (?) El Trafico. Did the heat get to LAFC once again? And how did the Galaxy survive the onslaught of the first half?

There are plenty of storylines to discuss coming out of the game, and the guys have most of them covered.

But Josh seems to think that the Galaxy’s defense is trending in the wrong direction. So as he raises that concern, Kevin will tell you why it doesn’t matter and why the Galaxy are already building to be a much different team than the one in the bubble.

Did Sebastian Lletget finally figure out what he needed to do? Did Guillermo Barros Schelotto figure out his role? Or can this all be traced back to Lletget making dangerous runs and smarter plays? Does any of that matter?

And finally, where do the Galaxy land in the Western Conference, and what could Phase II bring for a schedule?

We’ve got a ton to talk about, and we’re glad you could join us!

Now let’s get into your Corner of the Galaxy!
