Podcast: A Tough Lesson to Learn, but Galaxy aren’t on Sounders’ level… Yet

Efrain Alvarez struggles, Sam Grandsir is still a mystery, and the LA Galaxy lose to talented Seattle Sounders side. Panic? Not even close!

COG STUDIOS, Calif. — You shouldn’t be surprised by the LA Galaxy loss to the Seattle Sounders on Sunday night. But you do want to see how they’ll react to that loss and whether or not anyone was paying attention while it happened.

On today’s show, hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the details of the Galaxy’s loss and why head coach Greg Vanney puts a lot of the blame on himself. They’ll also discuss the Galaxy’s lineup decisions and why there are more injuries to worry about this week for the club as they get ready for the first El Tráfico of 2021.

Along the way, Josh and Kevin will ask questions about acquiring a central defensive midfielder and what that could mean for Jonathan dos Santos and some other central midfielders, and they’ll look at Samuel Grandsir’s start through the first three games.

And is Efrain Alvarez running out of time to be the next big thing? Will Vanney give him the chances? And is this all premature?

We’ve got a packed show that will take you through the Sounders game in detail and also talk about worrying defensive trends and historic Galaxy starts.

Do you feel like the Galaxy are ready to take a step forward? Or is all the Vanney-hype just a little too much way too soon?

We’ve got a bunch to discuss today, and we’re thrilled you could join us!
