Are the LA Galaxy ready to be measured against the best team in Major League Soccer? Will Saturday be the breakthrough they want?
COG STUDIOS, Calif. — The LA Galaxy are back in action on Saturday as they host the number one team in Major League Soccer, the Seattle Sounders. It’s a tremendous matchup that may give the Galaxy a measuring stick to see how far they’ve grown in a very short amount of time, and it’s a full-capacity game for the first time since early 2020.
On today’s show, host Josh Guesman is joined by Spectrum SportsNet’s Nikki Kay as a special guest-host ahead of the first Spectrum SportsNet broadcast of a regular-season game in 2021.
Together, Josh and Nikki will break down all the latest Galaxy news and get you ready for kick-off on Saturday. And that includes being the very first to tell you about what you can expect when you’re inside the stadium.
Your hosts will start by diving into the first open practice since the start of the pandemic, tell you what the team was like, and what we learned from an informative media call.
Josh and Nikki will then discuss the Juneteenth celebration and tell you what the Galaxy are going to do to acknowledge this brand new federal holiday.
Then they’ll move on to talk about a hectic schedule that will keep the Galaxy occupied for more than just this weekend. Plus, they’ll discuss the two guys still on international duty.
We haven’t seen a consistent Galaxy club. Will this be the start of one of their strongest runs?

Finally, Nikki will give you her thoughts on the Seattle Sounders and what Vanney wants to see from a Galaxy team that will need to grow into this game.
Do you know the last time the Sounders lost? It was in an MLS Cup Final… That should give you some perspective on the mountain the Galaxy will try and climb this weekend.
Are you ready for a return to almost normalcy?
