Yesterday, LA Galaxy II announced the winners of the two-day open tryouts in which players from 23 countries vied for a coveted spot. Javier Moran and Dimeji Sekoni were selected from a pool of over 500 participants to participate in the USL PRO team’s preseason camp.
“Dimeji and Javier caught our eye after showing incredible effort this weekend,” said LA Galaxy II Head Coach Curt Onalfo. “Galaxy II tryouts were a fantastic opportunity for aspiring professionals to earn a chance to train with our team in hopes of earning a contract. We look forward to having them join us for preseason.”

Dimeji Sekoni (Marine Mechanic Institute/ San Miguel Soccer Club) is a 23-year-old striker originally from Nigeria who most recently was selected by FC Tucson for a free training camp slated to begin in April.
Javier Moran, a 17-year-old, hailing from San Fernando, California, is a central midfielder at St. Genevieve High School, whose scoring tally over 4 years is 63 goals and 25 assists. He broke the single game mark at St. Genevieve boy’s soccer record by scoring 7 goals in one match. Javier was on the NSCAA/MaxPreps High School Players of the Week in mid-January.
Los Dos begin their 2015 USL PRO season Sunday, March 22, as they take on Real Monarchs SLC at StubHub Center’s Track & Field Stadium at 5pm PT.
