Short Corner: Curt Onalfo in Charge & Jermaine Jones to LA Galaxy

On today’s show, your host gets you through the LA Galaxy’s Head Coaching announcement and their first trade.

CoG Studios, CA – In the least surprising announcement of the year, the LA Galaxy named Curt Onalfo to the Head Coaching vacancy at a press conference in the American Express Stadium Club at StubHub Center today.

Your host, Josh Guesman, will walk you through the announcement as he has audio from both the newly named General Manager Peter Vagenas and Head Coach Curt Onalfo. And while both men talked about this being a big deal for them, will they be able to handle the pressure? After all, there isn’t a more impatient and expecting fanbase than the LA Galaxy. Is this the right move when LAFC are getting ready to join MLS in 2018? Who are some of the other options? All things that will be discussed on this Short Corner.

Then Josh will transition away from the GM and Head Coaching announcements to talk about some of the other news swirling around the LA Galaxy. Perhaps the biggest being the first trade the Onalfo and Vagenas partnership has made — the acquisition of the rights to Jermaine Jones. And while no deal has been made, this will be the first real test for the LA Galaxy’s new leadership. How do they fit a 35-year-old midfielder into a team they wanted to make younger? And what does that contract look like if it gets done?

Finally, Josh will clean up any loose ends like discussing the expansion draft results and talking about options that haven’t been picked up. This is turning into a crazy offseason. And We’ll be right here to make sure you get all the information you need.
