MLS will need to dodge a total disaster to get the biggest benefit. But is it risking too much? Or can the league get all the mileage it needs out of Orlando?
COG STUDIOS, Calif. — The LA Galaxy announced another roster addition and finally confirmed their departure date to Orlando. There’s a bunch to get to, so we shouldn’t waste any time.
On today’s show, your hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter will dive into the many issues facing the Galaxy and Major League Soccer as they prepare for the “MLS is Back” tournament.
That includes a detailed look at how the league is going to announce positive COVID-19 tests and precisely what it means to be inside the “mesh hat” in Orlando. We’re even sending the Panda to cover the tournament (technically the LA Times is sending him, but you know what we mean).
We’ll discuss what it’s going to be like to travel for the team, when they’ll depart, where they’ll arrive, and what activities they can plan for once they’re locked in.
Plus, the guys are going to talk about a live scrimmage you can watch (on tv) and what other amazing events the Galaxy have scheduled for the send-off week. It’s going to be a fun one, and that includes a socially-distant rally — there’s a first time for everything.
Finally, the guys get you through the rest of the event as everyone gears up for the tournament.
Can MLS screw this up? You bet! But can they win by pulling this off without a major disaster? Can you say hurricanes?
It’s a packed show, and we’re glad you could join us!
