CoG: LA Galaxy Escape Portland & Look Ahead to Houston

This show we’ll talk about the LA Galaxy’s draw with Portland and look ahead to the Friday night matchup with Houston.

It’s another full hour of LA Galaxy talk. Your Corner of the Galaxy co-hosts Josh Guesman and Cory Ritzau are walking your through the controversial draw with the defending MLS Champs, Portland Timbers. Of course they’re going to talk about Nigel De Jong’s tackle on Darlington Nagbe, but they’re also going to talk about two other dangerous tackles as well. They tell you who their player of the game was and what was really hampering the LA Galaxy on the night. They’ll also talk about Giovani Dos Santos’ return to the starting lineup and what they thought of the Mexican striker.

The show is filled with postgame audio from Bruce Arena and Nigel De Jong as they recall what happened in the Sunday night match as well.

Then it’s off to team news where the guys will take up Bruce Arena’s call that the media is to blame for Nigel De Jong’s problems. They’ll also give you the latest on how many game De Jong might be missing thanks to the Disciplinary Committee.

The injury updates may actually be full of good news. There are about nine players on the list and possibly seven will be coming off. The injury crisis might just be over. Just in time for the suspension crisis.

Finally it’s a preview of the Friday night matchup with Houston. The Dynamo will host the LA Galaxy on Friday at 4PM Pacific time. What can you expect from this match? Well it may just be a matter of the LA Galaxy defense trying to stop a great Houston offense. But also about a struggling LA Galaxy offense going up against a poor Houston defense. Someone’s got to find a way to score, right?
