CoG: LA Galaxy’s Controversy Is Overblown Again & TFC On Saturday

On today’s show your host discusses the US Open Cup victory and gets you ready for Toronto on the weekend.

CoG Studios, CA – On this episode of Corner of the Galaxy your host Josh Guesman will talk you through the LA Galaxy’s 4-1 win in the US Open Cup. There was tons of controversy when the Galaxy scored in the 96th minute as amateur side La Máquina fell asleep on defending the set piece. Josh will tell you if he thought it was unsportsmanlike, cheap, or otherwise insulting to the game. And was that play even legal?

Then Josh will talk about LA Galaxy news as the 4th annual PRIDE NIGHT is on the docket (www.lagalaxy.com/pride) for the Galaxy’s game against the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday June 22nd. There’s a great opportunity to donate tickets and get a pride scarf as well and it’s something that makes all the sense in the world.

Josh will also go over the LA Galaxy’s congested schedule and that includes a midweek game in the US Open Cup against the Portland Timbers in Portland. While it’s not the best case scenario, if the LA Galaxy get past Portland they would host the quarterfinal matchup against the winner of Seattle and Real Salt Lake.

Finally it’s getting focused on Saturday’s match versus Toronto. With international absences probably hurting Toronto more, this is a chance for the Galaxy to steal some points on the road. With the last four meetings between these two teams ending in draws, hopefully LA can avoid the draw and leave with 3 points.
