COG STUDIOS, Calif. — The LA Galaxy are preparing for what should be the first additions to the roster. All of this during a week that will see them survive an expansion draft and headline three other drafts (Waiver Draft, Re-Entry Draft Stage 1, Re-Entry Draft Stage 2).
Your host, Josh Guesman, is flying solo as Kevin Baxter travels out of the country on a well-deserved vacation.
Josh will get you updated on the Galaxy’s list of protected and unprotected players as well as give you the rules for the expansion draft. He’ll also detail the reason the club left some players unprotected and what the likelihood of the Galaxy having any players picked.
And is there a very interesting strategy to how LAFC will use the expansion draft? Could it benefit the Galaxy?
Next, we’ll talk TAM and why the Galaxy suddenly have a bunch more money to spend for this season and next. But there’s a big catch — will the Galaxy actually spend the money?
And is Robin van Persie considering joining the Galaxy in January? Is his time in Turkey finally coming to an end? And should the club even be interested?
