Podcast: LA Galaxy in the Hunt for Kitchen and Our Final Show of 2017

On today’s show, your host will get you through the last Draft of 2017 and why the LA Galaxy are adding more midfielders to a team that already has so many.

COG STUDIOS, Calif. — The LA Galaxy looked to close out 2017 with a bang, as they acquired the rights to Servando Carrasco in the second stage of the MLS Re-Entry Draft. This means the Galaxy will have a week to offer Carrasco a contract and if all goes well, he’ll sign with the club and become their only defensive midfielder on the roster.

Your host Josh Guesman will discuss all the happenings around the re-entry draft and get you updated on all the rumors.

He’ll talk about the Galaxy’s pursuit of Perry Kitchen and why adding another midfielder actually makes a ton of sense. But can the Galaxy get a deal done being he still has 18-months left on his contract?

And why haven’t the Galaxy announced the signing of goalkeeper David Bingham yet? We talked about there being some issues with that deal on Monday but we’ll also tell you why we’re feeling a little bit better about the deal come Thursday.

Next, your host will go over the entire Galaxy roster in an attempt to lessen your panic. The Galaxy have 15 players signed on the roster, with four others waiting in the wings. But with 15 roster spots open and only one international slot remaining, could the Galaxy be looking to offload defender Michael Ciani and Forward Gyasi Zardes?

And why are there no concrete leads for the Galaxy’s search for a striker?

Finally, Josh will get you the dates on a special Galaxy event as well as the start dates and times of the Galaxy’s first two games in 2018. He’ll also answer all your questions as the last show of 2017.

We hope you have enjoyed the show over the last year, and we’ll be back first thing in 2018 to get you ready for the approaching season.

From everyone here at Corner of the Galaxy, Happy Holidays! We’ll see you NEXT YEAR!
