Podcast: “Defending” Gio and Realistic Expectations During an Off-Week

On today’s show, we discuss Giovani dos Santos, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, realistic expectations going into Vancouver, and some quick LA Galaxy II talk.

CoG Studios, CA — The LA Galaxy don’t have a game this week. So that means we’ll get to talk about things that normally get lost in the hustle and bustle of the weekly grind.

Your host Josh Guesman, will start off with some LA Galaxy II talk. The club has been busily signing players and some of the names you’ve heard before, but most of them you haven’t. What does the Galaxy II schedule look like to start? And if you could go to any promotional night, would it be wine over puppies — only the most hard-hitting questions on this show, obviously!

Next, Josh will transition over to the senior team where the Galaxy are training ahead of a bye-week. But with Vancouver on their minds, we’ll be sure to give you an update on the six injured Galaxy players, and why the club could actually be without eight players when they finally step foot on the carpet at BC Place.

Plus, why didn’t the Galaxy appeal Ashley Cole’s red card? Sigi Schmid had something to say about it and CoG’s very own Larry Morgan was at training to write it all down.

Finally, Josh will talk about alternative lineups for Vancouver and why Jonathan dos Santos might just be the guy to fill the no. 10 role even after his brother returns from injury.

And with the LAFC game approaching at the end of the month, we’ll tell you why you shouldn’t be worried. And it has nothing to with form, or quality of the team.

We love talking Galaxy and we’re so glad that you could join us for another Thursday (or whenever you’re listening) full of soccer!
