Podcast: Old names but new ideas? The Galaxy are flirting with a new front office.

On today’s show, your hosts discuss Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s future, and what moves the LA Galaxy front office needs to make to be successful.

COG STUDIOS, Calif. — The LA Galaxy are hosting a media availability where we could find out the status of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Or we could find out absolutely nothing. Regardless, we decided to record a show and give you the background of the situation in hopes there is something to be learned on Tuesday.

Your hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter are back for another episode that dives into all the current issues facing the Galaxy. The club is without a general manager, a head coach, a robust scouting department, and no one running their analytics. And with talks of the Galaxy courting Bruce Arena and Todd Dunivant, it might be the first steps in defining what the club of the future will look like.

The guys will start by explaining all the name-dropping information and get you up to speed on why Ibrahimovic might depart the Galaxy. They’ll also discuss what good news could mean from the exit interviews and why that might even include allowing Ibrahimovic some time to depart the club as long as he comes back.

Then Kevin will give you the latest on the Romain Alessandrini rumors as the Montreal Impact appear more than willing to welcome the Frenchman to their club. Could Alessandrini’s move open up a DP spot for Ibrahimovic? Or is it simply too soon to tell?

Plus, Josh and Kevin discuss other AEG moves and why the Galaxy tends to play second fiddle to their skating brothers down at LA Live.

This show is filled with speculation, analysis and a complete update on the MLS Cup Playoffs. And by complete, we mean just a jab at Seattle for not owning their own stadium and getting kicked out due to a car show.

Be sure to follow both Josh (@GalaxyPodcast) and Kevin (@Kbaxter11) for up to the minute information regarding the Galaxy’s press event on Tuesday.
