Podcast: Without Zlatan, can Galaxy overcome a trap game?

The LA Galaxy might be without their leading goalscorer on Sunday, but that shouldn’t stop them from taking down the Rapids

COG STUDIOS, Calif. — The LA Galaxy are preparing to play one of the worst teams in MLS history. But could the Colorado Rapids — winless on the season — cause some problems for the Galaxy?

On today’s show, your hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira are locked into a hectic Galaxy news week.

They’ll start by getting you updates on Favio Alvarez’s status for the weekend and dive into the players that should be available for selection come Sunday. There’s an update about Jonathan dos Santos and a lengthy discussion about the likely suspension of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Can the Galaxy survive a multi-game suspension from the big man?

Then the guys will go on to talk about the Gold Cup, the Copa America, and a brand new tournament with Liga MX that will see the Galaxy as it’s first participants.

But Josh and Eric will be focusing in on the absences that you can expect from these tournaments and which games could be affected. Then they’ll move on to talk about schedule congestion and how it could derail everything the Galaxy have going for them.

Finally, the guys will zero-in on the U-17 CONCACAF Championship and why the Galaxy are well represented in the tournament before shifting focus to the Game against Colorado.

Do you expect Ibrahimovic to be suspended? Do you think the MLS Disciplinary Committee is capable of rendering a fair assessment of the incident in question? And could more than one suspension be coming?

We’ve got a packed show that is capped off with another PERFECT dramatic intro!

So sit back and relax as Josh and Eric get you ready for another weekend of Galaxy soccer. And don’t forget to contact us with any questions you have for our next show!
