Podcast: Zlatan’s “reality” and simple Galaxy games

The LA Galaxy lost to another bottom-dweller. Why was New England successful and why are the Galaxy exactly who Zlatan thinks they are?

COG STUDIOS, Calif. — The LA Galaxy lost to the New England Revolution in what Zlatan Ibrahimovic called a simple game. And he was right! It was a simple game.

On today’s show, your host Josh Guesman wants to discuss what he saw in the loss. There wasn’t a bunch of stellar play, but you could tell why the club got beat and why the Revolution was so good at picking the Galaxy apart. And it’s something that Galaxy Head Coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto needs to fix.

Josh will start by discussing the field conditions that were left in the wake of Wango Tango, and about the ups and downs of Pride Night — that includes a shameless plug about the rainbow nets article.

Then this show will transition into Galaxy news. We’re going to update you the international call-up situation, get you updated on all the Galaxy injuries, and get you prepared for what to expect from the Galaxy and their training this week.

There’s even a plea to get your unused, and free, US Open Cup tickets to someone who will use them. Give the gift of free soccer to someone who wants to go to this midweek game at the Track & Field Stadium.

Josh will also spend some time discussing a weird trend in MLS that is very evident in the Galaxy — home teams not winning games. The league just published some numbers, and we want to point at the scheduling as the culprit.

And everyone is talking about one particular rumor. Could Cristian Pavon be making his way to the Galaxy? Josh will tell you all the hurdles you’d have to jump over to get him in Southern California.

Is it a packed show on an off week? How did that happen?!

We’re glad you could join us for some Galaxy-talk!
