Podcast: Galaxy need to ‘Sprint a Marathon’

With a scoreless draw in San Jose, the LA Galaxy may have just shown how they act when they don’t have the offense going. Was it a bad game? Or a good point?

COG STUDIOS, Calif. — A draw against the San Jose Earthquakes wasn’t the best result for the LA Galaxy on Sunday night. But it was far from the worst result!

On today’s show, host Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the Galaxy’s surprising draw and all the little things that went into a difficult match on a late Sunday night. And we’ll even tell you why the Galaxy almost didn’t make it out of San Jose!

With their winning-streak squashed, the Galaxy extended their unbeaten streak to six games. Meaning they have lost a game since their 6-2 MLS is Back defeat to LAFC. Since then, the Galaxy have shutout their noisy neighbors twice and just concluded their third clean sheet of the season.

But what are the big takeaways from a team that looked far from perfect against an undermanned Earthquakes side? Why did Cristian Pavon struggle? And why could Efrain Alvarez rescue the club?

There’s a lot to discuss surrounding the game, including the return of Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez and how Jonathan dos Santos is getting closer to a start.

Then, Josh and Kevin will talk about the three new games on the schedule and why the Galaxy’s road to the playoffs will be like “sprinting a marathon.” Plus, why did MLS only release three more games, and what do the standings tell us about some paper tigers!

The conclusion to this season is going to be quick. Are you buckled in and ready for the ride?
