Podcast: Galaxy and Chicharito feeling pressure to perform

The LA Galaxy will more than likely put Yony González on the field this Saturday. Will Javier Hernandez be there to help his new teammate? Or is the pressure creating a make-or-break match for the entire team?

COG STUDIOS, Calif. — The LA Galaxy finally got their chance to introduce Yony González to the fans and media on Thursday. To say it was a long road is an understatement. But will González be the impact player you expected him to be? And what did his press conference tell us about what kind of guy he is on the team?

On today’s show, hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira discuss all the latest Galaxy news to make sure you’re ready for Sunday’s game against the San Jose Earthquakes. That includes the latest from Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez, and why Cristian Pavon, Rolf Feltscher, and Jonathan dos Santos might not be going anywhere on International Duty.

The guys start with AFJA President Steven Cruz joining the show, as he gets us up to date on all the amazing things his organization is doing for Central American kids. Steven will tell us about partnering with the Galaxy, Mosaic 1781, and everyone’s favorite Twitch-streamer, @WhoisKylo. This is a great organization, and Steven was gracious with his time.

Then the guys dive into Yony and Chicharito. Both players spoke at media availability, but their attitudes and outlooks couldn’t have been different. Is Chicharito on the verge of breaking? Is the criticism getting to him?

And is González ready for takeoff? Or will his launch be scrubbed against the ‘Quakes?

Finally, Josh and Eric dive into the most recent FIFA decision on players being released for International games before getting you ready for the game in the Bay Area.

We’ve got a packed show, and we’re delighted you could join us.
