Podcast: ‘Riot at the Tailgate’ and some Galaxy Tucson travel

A musical debut, the Galaxy get ready for Tucson, and how a day of ticket sales managed to avoid disaster!

COG STUDIOS, Calif. — The LA Galaxy are heading for a 10-day sting in Tucson. This looks to be our best chance actually to see a starting lineup. The internationals are back, Victor Vazquez and Samuel Grandsir should be arriving, and soon, we’ll get to know the Galaxy that will start the season against Inter Miami!

On today’s show, we have a first. We get to debut a new song coming out in April that hits all the right notes. Even for these white boys, this is an excellent track that you should be playing on your way to the game, as you’re tailgating and certainly after a win. We’ll debut Arquitekto Verbal’s “Riot at the Tailgate” off his 1996 album for you on our show!

But hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira aren’t just your wacky FM DJs. No, they’re updating you on all the Galaxy news you missed this week.

Josh and Eric will talk about the loss to New England and why Greg Vanney doesn’t seem worried. Plus, did any of the younger players impress in their midweek run-out? And why did the second half go so sideways?

Plus, the guys want to talk about the ticket event that took place today as Season Ticket Member’s waiting in their virtual queues to secure tickets to the Galaxy’s home-opener on April 25th.

Then there’s some discussion of Jonathan dos Santos and Efrain Alvarez and why they’ll be joining Sebastian Lletget, Julian Araujo, Vazquez, and Grandsir in Tucson. What’s so special about Arizona right now?

Finally, the guys tell you why Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez got the biggest payout of any MLS player from the players’ union and why the Galaxy hold a special place on TV for Major League Soccer this year (thank Athletic).

We’ve got a packed musical episode, and we can’t wait to get it started. Thanks for joining us!
