Podcast: First-game hyperbole and buying into everything Vanney is selling

COG STUDIOS, Calif. — It didn’t go exactly the way they planned. But for an LA Galaxy team that needed to be rewarded for a long grueling offseason, a win over Miami and two goals from Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez was just what the doctor ordered.

On today’s show, both Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter want you to be excited about what you saw from the club on Sunday afternoon. They battled weather, they fought a poor start, and they may have even battled some questionable refereeing. But at least they battled, and this time, it paid off.

The guys will go over the events that led to Sebastian Lletget’s inclusion in the game-day roster and why that “investigation” isn’t over yet. Plus, they’ll talk of many different perspectives on the Galaxy’s 3-2 win over Inter Miami.

Why does Chicharito scoring goals mean so much for the Galaxy, so much to Vanney, and so much for Javier himself? And why is this momentum so addictive with more significant tests down the road? Plus, Hernandez is getting some league accolades as well. We’ll discuss it all.

Josh and Kevin are also talking about Season Ticket Members and their ability to buy tickets starting on Tuesday and what to expect when you come back into the stadium? Plus, what exactly is a reverse ATM? Does that even make sense?

Finally, the guys go over standings, talk stats about the Galaxy’s win and generally give you all the news updates you can handle. Even the “breaking news” we got while recording the show!

It’s only week one, but the CoG team is already in mid-season form. So we’re sure it will all come crashing down very soon!

Welcome back, everyone!
