Podcast: Galaxy ready for Sporting KC, but Gold Cup throws a wrinkle into insane schedule

Fans will once again fill the stadium on July Fourth, but can the LA Galaxy get a win over a very strong Sporting Side? Will both teams be shorthanded?

COG STUDIOS, Calif. — The LA Galaxy are back in action, and the fireworks are back at Dignity Health Sports Park. But the off-the-field won’t be the only explosive action. No, the Galaxy will be hosting Sporting KC and the no. 2 and no. 3 teams in the conference both want to come out on top!

Hosts Josh Guesmand Eric Vieira get through all the Galaxy news that has landed since Monday night.

They’ll start by discussing the media call on Thursday afternoon and what we could learn from Greg Vanney, Jonathan Bond, and Sebastian Lletget.

But the most significant topic of discussion will be the Galaxy’s grueling scheduling in July and August and why the Gold Cup will take away five Galaxy players for most of the month. Can Vanney make some deals to keep a player or two to ease that burden?

And who are the five players who will make the pilgrimage to the CONCACAF Gold Cup?

Finally, Josh and Eric break down one of those stupid rumors that won’t go away before getting you ready for Sporting KC on Sunday night. The Galaxy have a challenging game against one of the most in-form teams in MLS. Is this a game that the Galaxy can take all three points from?

As always, we thank you for listening and watching our shows, and we hope that we can keep you updated on your favorite team in MLS!
