Podcast: Galaxy need cooperation of players to fix DP issue

On today’s show, your hosts tell you all the hurdles keeping the Galaxy from cleaning up their four DP problem. Plus, the injury bug is back!

COG STUDIOS, Calif. – As we enter week three of the LA Galaxy preseason, the players have made it through the two-a-days and are getting ready for their first game-week of 2019. And with that comes our first views of how this years’ club might look.

On today’s show, your hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter give you their observations of this team as it slowly takes shape.

They’ll first focus on the Sebastian Lletget and how his performance with the U.S. Men’s National Team are a great sign for Galaxy fans. His injury with the national team set Lletget back on a career that was trending towards a crescendo. With Lletget firing on all cylinders – even if not fully 100% fit according to him – the Galaxy could finally be in a position to take advantage of a talented player who is nearing his peak of performance.

And Josh will tell you exactly why the Galaxy will need more of that from Lletget and other players if this Galaxy team is going to take a significant step towards a league contender again.

Then Josh and Kevin will get into the intrasquad scrimmage and what the lineup has to say about how the Galaxy might lineup this season. Was there a surprise on the back line? What did the midfield tell us?

Finally, the guys discuss the cooperation that will be needed to modify anyone’s contract and why a buyout opens up so much more room to fix the defense than simply modifying a contract. But even in modification, all players need to be on the same page with the club.

What are the chances of that happening?

We’ve got a great show filled with all the latest Galaxy news. And we’re really glad you could join us!
