PODCAST: We’re finally Costa official. Plus, a desert draw

Douglas Costa is officially a member of the LA Galaxy. So when can he play and where does he fit? Plus coverage of today’s press conference and scrimmage.

COG STUDIOS, Calif. — No, your ears aren’t deceiving you. No, it’s not Monday. It’s Thursday, and maybe for the first time, we’ve got the Panda on a Thursday night. You can tell how confused he is just by the opening minutes!

Hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter discuss the big Thursday the Galaxy just had on today’s show. There’s plenty of Galaxy news to discuss, there’s plenty still to discuss when it comes to the signing of Douglas Costa, and the guys will even talk about some of the news that’s going around the league. Like which MLS coach just said his team was “screwed?”

Josh and Kevin will start talking about the Galaxy’s draw with the Seattle Sounders at the Coachella Valley Invitational. But because the game wasn’t streamed, they invited Soccer America’s (and other freelance soccer coverage) Scott French to tell them what details they missed for the game. Like why did Scott think the Galaxy deserved to win the game? What problem area does everyone agree the Galaxy have? And where was Rayan Ravelson playing?

Then Josh and Kevin move on to finally announcing the details of the Costa Designated Player signing and why Costa was in a private jet today. Plus, will he have to leave the country to get his Visa in order?

But there’s also coverage of the Galaxy’s press conference today and what was said by Vanney and whose name wasn’t dropped very much. Is Vanney hinting at a departure for one of the brightest stars the Galaxy has?

We’ve got a jammed show with a lot of details that you’re not going to want to miss. And that includes a lot of talk about how the Galaxy want to play with Costa now involved.

As always, thanks for joining us on another episode of Corner of the Galaxy.
